The Rebel
22 04 2009“Follow the rules
Don’t stretch the line.
Don’t play the fool,
We think it a crime.”
Break out of the norm
then set it on fire.
It’s only a snitch
That wears a wire.
Snap those chains
that bind your neck.
Conformity leaves us
A rusty, smoking wreck.
Clean break with society–
Free fall into grace.
Express your freedom,
Just keep righteousness in place.

Rain
12 04 2009So my world falls down,
In little drops around me.
I walk down the road,
and feel my power wane.
I need Grace and truth,
But above all I can see,
I need a deep love
That swallows the pain.
Will you rescue me yet,
Oh my Eternal Father?
Let me feel you here,
Just as real as the rain.

Hunter/Hunted
7 04 2009Happy am I to be in no one’s dreams
Lest they should prove to be nightmeres.
A bastion of purity I never was,
For peddlers masterfully sell their wares.
A tortured soul in such distress,
Fighting off the world’s wickedness.
I find peace in single silence–
A poor substitute for righteousness.
If thoughts are half the battle,
Then the war was already lost.
A price was paid for my freedom,
But what really is the cost?
A predator on my doorstep lurks,
A lust of my blood in his eyes.
Quiet prayer then reaches heavenward,
And the monster falls stone dead.

Reversal of Fate
3 04 2009The kings have now become slaves.
Those who once ruled
Are now subjects of whim.
Granted power on silver platter,
Turned aside for only knowledge.
How deep this reversal stings…
That which served
Now runs the show.
Thrones cannot long sit empty.
Abdication leaves the comfortable
Fearing cold and loathing heat.
So it seems fate is sealed.
Man struggles against his chains.
We fear our home’s wrath,
When once were we the master.
Running about to and fro,
We seek to maintain some order,
But we forget to love the Father.
