Dynamite Dentalwork

“This feels like overkill…” a man said with an ironic grin to his friend. “At the very least, we won’t let it go to his head.”  All watching knew they would witness a murder, yet none turned away or tried to stop the scene.

A greusome tableau of mortality, this was… 4000 years of science to produce the tool to spread a man’s brain over the better part of a mile.  The victim was drugged, blindfolded and bound… yet he always had that smile on his face.  Gaptoothed grin holding the explosive that would be his end, he was on cloud nine and headed straight to hell.

The world has done this to him; once a scholar and now fool.  It started as all bad ends begin… that one moment of losing control.  The sharpest mind dumbed to a pulp, and all because he looked where he shouldn’t.  One drop of passion didn’t seem like too much, but that little bit of numbness would soon take over.  He who was articulate and wise, is now little more than an addict in disguise.  Unable to fend for himself, this wretch was dragged away.  Suffice it to say, he incurred a debt he couldn’t pay.

We pay so much to get our demons.  Always looking for a thrill, we pay twice again to keep them here.  Unless you find a ransom price, those very demons will claim your life.

Numbed by a world fascinated with death, nobody stopped the Enforcer’s work.  Held in place by the surreality of it all, no one cared what children saw it.  The wind blew and the dust moved… with a loud bang, it was done.
